Both Fusion 360 and SolidWorks are powerful tools, but they serve different workflows. Here is how we decide which to use at Algebratronics.
Fusion 360 Strengths

- Lower licensing cost, ideal for startups
- Generative design capabilities
SolidWorks Strengths
- Industry standard for mechanical engineering
- Deeper simulation and FEA capabilities
- Massive ecosystem of plugins and libraries
- Better for large-assembly management
Our Recommendation
For rapid prototyping and product development, we lean toward Fusion 360. For complex mechanical assemblies and detailed simulation, SolidWorks is hard to beat. Many of our projects use both.
